OUR DOCTORS

Dr. Sophia Paige, a board certified obstetrician/gynecologist was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio.

She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Virginia and her medical training from The Ohio State University. Dr. Paige finished her residency program at the University of California at Los Angeles.

After being recruited by the Nalle Clinic, Dr. Paige moved to the Charlotte area in July of 1996. She worked for the Nalle Clinic until December of 1998 when she decided to start a more private, personal practice-Arboretum Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Paige is married to Jeff Feemster and they have a daughter, Paige Feemster who was born in 2009.

Dr. Mala Freeman-Kwaku, a board certified obstetrician/gynecologist was born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia.

After completing her undergraduate degree and her medical training from the University of Virginia, she finished her residency at Georgetown University. Dr. Freeman-Kwaku joined Arboretum ObGyn in 2002.  She is married to Dr. Hans Kwaku and they have three children-Elijah, Hannah and Noah. 

In her spare time Dr. Freeman enjoys spending time with her family, reading and she is active with her church, Lighthouse Chapel International.

Dr. Octavia Cannon, a board certified obstetrician / gynecologist is a native of East Lansing, Michigan.

She completed her undergraduate degree with honors from Johnson C. Smith University here in Charlotte, N.C. She completed her medical training at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Miami, FL. Dr. Cannon returned to Michigan to complete her residency training at St. John/Detroit Riverview Hospital and Hutzel Hospital.

Dr. Cannon returned to Charlotte in 1999 after completing her residency. She served as the Director of Women's Health at Gaston County Health Department for 6 years, then joined Arboretum ObGyn in October 2005.  She enjoys facilitating seminars on women’s health in the greater Charlotte community, volunteering for the Junior League of Charlotte & Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and reading in her spare time.
